History
The United States Air Force Air Demonstration Squadron, better known as the Thunderbirds, was formed in 1953 at Luke Air Force Base, Arizona.
Today the team flies the F-16 Fighting Falcon from Nellis Air Force Base in Nevada and performs at air shows across the United States and abroad. A typical show features six jets: four in the diamond formation and two solo aircraft.
